ASKĒSIS
Backstroke swimmer at water level

The safety standard

Capability is built with judgment.

Askēsis gives training guidance, not medical care. Good practice protects technique, recovery, and the ability to return tomorrow.

Start from today

Use the easier variation, reduce range, pace, load, or volume whenever control changes.

Pain changes the plan

Stop for sharp, increasing, unfamiliar, or persistent pain. Do not train through symptoms to complete a screen.

Water needs margin

Never swim alone in open water. Follow venue rules, weather guidance, supervision requirements, and your own demonstrated ability.

Escalate early

Seek qualified medical advice for new, severe, recurring, or unexplained symptoms, and before returning after a significant injury or illness.

Urgent symptoms

Chest pain, severe breathing difficulty, fainting, signs of stroke, a serious injury, or immediate danger require local emergency services, not an app message.
